Getting Started

Follow these simple steps to install the safha.app (Format.it) Chrome Extension and link it to your free Groq API key.

Part 1: Installing the Extension

Because the app is currently available outside the Chrome Web Store for early adopters, you need to load it directly from the files you downloaded:

1. Unzip the Download
   Locate the format-it.zip file you downloaded and extract/unzip it into a folder on your computer.
2. Open Chrome Extensions
   In Google Chrome, navigate to the Extensions menu by typing the following into your URL bar and hitting enter:
   chrome://extensions/
3. Enable Developer Mode
   In the top right corner of the Extensions page, you will see a toggle switch labeled Developer mode. Turn this ON.
4. Load Unpacked
   Once Developer mode is on, a new row of buttons will appear at the top left. Click Load unpacked.
5. Select the Folder
   A file browser will open. Select the folder you extracted in Step 1 (make sure to select the folder that contains manifest.json inside it).

Success! The extension is now installed. Pin it to your browser toolbar (using the puzzle piece icon at the top right of Chrome) for easy access.

Part 2: Getting your FREE Groq API Key

To process text efficiently and for free, safha.app uses the Groq API model, which offers extremely fast processing and generous free usage credits.

1. Go to Groq Console
   Navigate to https://console.groq.com/keys.
2. Log In
   Create an account or simply log in with your Google Account.
3. Create an API Key
   Click the prominent Create API Key button on the console dashboard.
4. Copy the Key
   A pop-up will appear with your unique, secret API key (it starts with gsk_...). Copy this key immediately, as you won't be able to see it again.
5. Paste into Safha.app
   Click on the extension icon in your Chrome toolbar. This will open the popup. Paste your key into the required field to link the app.

You are fully set up! Start selecting text anywhere on the internet and transforming it in seconds!
